14 October 2024: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the APAC Society of Cellular Agriculture (APAC-SCA) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) to promote student engagement in the cellular agriculture sector.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at TP on 14 October 2024, at the inaugural event of APAC-SCA (Student Chapter). Minister of State for Education, Ms Gan Siow Huang, graced the ceremony as Guest-of-Honour and witnessed the signing of the MoU. Co-created by the two organisations as part of the MoU, APAC-SCA (Student Chapter) is Singapore’s first student society dedicated to fostering a community of students across Asia Pacific who share the view of shaping the future of food through cellular agriculture. The student-led initiative will develop a series of events and resources to raise awareness and preference for cultivated meat & seafood among the next generation of consumers.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will also work to develop short course(s) on novel food regulation and standards development, and provide meaningful learning experiences for students through syllabus creation and outreach programs.
